Restoration of Mines Pit for Conservation of Biodiversity-Niskrtih at Pandalgudi mines

Ramco Cements has embarked on the exhaustive mines restoration project at Ramasamy Raja Nagar Unit’s Pandalgudi mines. The objective is to create a recreational forest that promotes native species of flora and fauna. The vision is to restore 800 acres of land to natural forests in the next five years, providing a meaningful experience for all involved.

Impact

We strive to reduce our impact on the environment, replenish natural ecosystems and preserve natural biodiversity in the areas where our mining operations are located. Towards this objective, we restored Pandalgudi's mines in collaboration with Auroville Botanical Garden.

The goal is to plant native seedlings in 800 acres. We have already planted 2,20,000 trees and shrubs of 140 different native species.
